SEOUL — The passengers on the Jeju Air flight that crashed at Muan International Airport on Sunday included 173 South Koreans and two Thai nationals, according to authorities.

The flight departed from Bangkok earlier in the day and was attempting to land when the incident occurred. The aircraft had a total of 181 people on board, including six crew, confirmed the National Fire Agency.

Emergency responders have so far rescued one passenger and one crew member. Initial searches, starting from the rear of the aircraft, have identified 47 dead, and efforts are ongoing to locate additional casualties.
