ZAMBOANGA CITYlucky block, Philippines — Government troops recovered an improvised explosive device (IED) and foiled a bombing attempt on Friday in Datu Unsay town, Maguindanao del Sur.

“We trust your office will prioritize this matter and act swiftly to protect the integrity of our nation’s legal and economic systems,” the lawmakers said in a statement.

According to reports reaching the Western Mindanao Command, villagers informed the 90th Infantry Battalion of the discovery of the IED along a community trail in Barangay Iginagampong.

Lt. Col. Rowel Gavillaneslucky block, 90th IB commander, said soldiers secured the area while the 32nd Explosive Ordnance Disposal team recovered the bomb.
